“Absolutely, we all know that the cost of groceries is sky-high right now, and we’re seeingan increase in children and families experiencing food insecurity. These Food for Learning programs are needed now more than ever. We’re trending to see an increase in meals and snacks served in in Food for Learning of 300,000 more than what was served last school year. So we’re anticipating 1.8-million meals and snacks will be served by the end of June for the 25-26 school year.”
“We’re anticipating that we’re going to see a total of 1.8 million meals and snacks being served in schools this school year before the end of June. We have Food for Learning programs in 68 schools throughout Hastings and Prince Edward County, and on average, we’re serving about 7,200 students every single school day.”
