Lennox and Addington County OPP have charged the driver of a bus involved in a rollover collision on the Highway 401 near Odessa in February.
Back on February 22, at around 7:15 p.m., multiple emergency personnel agencies responded to reports of a commercial passenger bus that had entered the ditch and rolled over in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in the area of Old Wilton Road.
Police say that the bus was carrying 47 passengers along with the driver at the time of the incident.
Individuals suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including lacerations, broken bones and dislocations.
Injured passengers were taken to two local hospitals for medical treatment.
Highway 401 eastbound was closed for approximately four hours in the area to allow for emergency response and transporting of the involved passengers off of the highway.
As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Mandeep Mandeep from Brampton was charged with:
- Careless driving
- Careless driving causing bodily harm – ten counts
- Unsafe move
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 1, 2026.
