Belleville City Council received an update to the city’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) at its meeting Monday.
The 15 programs offered under the plan provide various financial incentives for the construction of new and affordable housing, downtown revitalization, and brownsfields redevelopment.
Incentives in the update will use money from the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund going into 2028 when the funding expires.
Almost $3 million is left for housing incentives, expected to support construction of around 200 new residential units.
More on the proposed incentive programs offered under the CIP can be seen here.
