The snow caused havoc and long delays on Highway 401 through the Quinte region Monday.
First, in the late afternoon, a tractor-trailer jackknifed on 401 east at Deseronto Road leading to a multi-vehicle collision.
Shortly afterward, another transport jackknifed on 401 east near Mitchell Road.
And then, just before 8 o’clock, a tractor-trailer carrying road salt caught fire on 401 west at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
Quinte West firefighters had the fire under control in about an hour.
No serious injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
