Now that 2026 is upon us, Quinte News spoke to Hastings County Warden Bob Mullin about the upcoming year.
He said that he wants to see more support from provincial funding to tackle the county’s projects.
“At the county level, we’re so dependent on funding from the province that until those grants get finalized and approved, it’s really difficult to do anything more than status quo. Sometimes even that’s difficult,” said Warden Mullin.
Currently, Hastings County is working on expanding IT infrastructure and municipal planning supports, which are expected to be multi-year projects.
