The Toronto Marlies beat the Belleville Senators 3-2 on Boxing Day.
Garrett Pilon and Wyatt Bongiovanni scored for the Senators.
The Senators opened scoring late in the third period, taking a slim lead into the second. In the second period, the Marlies came back with two unanswered goals to take the lead. In the third, the Marlies scored again, extending their lead. A late goal by the Senators was too little to catch up, and the Marlies took the win.
The Senators will take some time to rest, before returning on January 9 to face the Marlies again.
