It was a hectic year for Quinte Health.
As Quinte News looks back at the year that was, we spoke with the president of our four local hospitals (North Hastings, Prince Edward, Trenton, and Belleville) Stacey Daub.
She says there was a major acceleration for the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital build.
“Anybody who is out in the county, just drive by and you will see that mass timber structure light up, like the most beautiful beacon of the future for that community.”
The Emerge Stronger campaign was also in full swing at TMH.
“For Trenton Memorial we are working through the redevelopment of the emergency department there. It is an emergency department that has seen a huge increase in visits. It is almost neck and neck in with Belleville, in terms of the numbers of visits.”
She says they are also replacing less exciting, but critical items, like generators and boilers across the four sites.
“In North Hastings, it’s the second year into our new CT scanner and they are now turning their mind to another piece of diagnostic equipment and some renovations to support that.”
Daub added that due to the geography of North Hastings Hospital, pieces of equipment like this are critical.
There were several major donations by the hospital foundations for priority medical equipment at the four sites.
The Parrot Foundation, local community organizations, estate giving, and even bake sales helped provide for new equipment.
Daud finished by praising the amazing partnership with Belleville’s Loyalist College.
