Northumberland OPP have laid several charges against an individual following an investigation into intimate partner violence.
Officers received a report regarding multiple domestic incidents that occurred at two locations in Northumberland during September and October of this year.
An investigation led to a suspect being arrested on Thursday.
A 28-year-old male from Trenton has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon – spousal – two counts
- Assault – spousal
- Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
- Mischief – destroys or damages property – four counts
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in February 2026.
OPP did not release a name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
