Volunteer + Information HPE (VIQ) is announcing the retirement of its long-time Executive Director Brenda Snider.
In a press release, the organization credits Snider with strengthening partnerships and expanding support for over 280 agencies as well as championing volunteerism across the region.
Snider has been in the role for the last 20 years.
As part of the organization’s succession planning process, Mykayla Harrison will be stepping into the role of executive director, effective January 1, 2026.

Volunteer + Information HPE (VIQ) is announcing the retirement of long-time Executive Director Brenda Snider, who will be stepping down after 20 years of dedicated leadership and service to the community.
Brenda’s impact on Hastings and Prince Edward Counties has been profound. Under her leadership, VIQ has strengthened partnerships and expanded support for over 280 agencies. She has championed volunteerism across the region and has built a legacy for VIQ. Her steady presence, vision, and commitment to community building have shaped VIQ into the trusted organization for volunteerism that it is today.
As part of VIQ’s succession planning process, Mykayla Harrison will be stepping into the role of Executive Director, effective January 1st, 2026. Mykayla has been working closely with Brenda throughout the transition to ensure continuity, community connection, and preservation of VIQ’s mission and values.
VIQ’s Board Chair, Doug Peterson, recognizes Brenda’s contribution to the agency and community over her long tenure. “Brenda’s leadership, determination, and purposeful grit have transformed VIQ into a powerful and respected force within our community. Brenda’s retirement marks the end of an era for VIQ, but her legacy will continue to guide the organization as Mykayla takes on this new role. VIQ thanks Brenda for her unwavering commitment and wishes her the very best in her well-earned retirement.
