The newly combined South East Health Unit is preparing to harmonize programs across the entire area they serve.
During Wednesday’s Board of Health meeting, the board reviewed a report on the progress made on merging programs and systems. In a report to the board, it was said that progress was being made as quickly as possible, but no hard dates were provided for completing work.
So far, most of the work discussed has been going on behind the scenes, systems such as record-keeping and payroll.
One of the priorities while the health units are merging, is to minimize disruptions to people using their services.
The health unit is the result of a merging of Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, Leeds Grennville and Lanark District Health Unit, and Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington Public Health.
