Peterborough OPP have arrested and charged the same man twice in the same day, after receiving two calls related to intimate partner violence.
On Tuesday, close to 3:30 pm, officers were dispatched to a call at a residence in Peterborough, where a man was making threats. The caller told officers their former partner had made threats to cause damage to the caller’s property.
Officers attended and spoke to the accused who reiterated the threat, at which point they were arrested.
A 61 year old man was charged with uttering threats to damage property.
The accused was released from custody, on a condition to not communicate with the complainant.
Later that evening, just before midnight, officers received a call from the complainant again. The caller advised that the same accused individual, after being released from custody had made multiple attempts to contact them. Officers contacted the accused who was arrested a second time.
The same 61 year old man was charged with failure to comply with an undertaking, and was held pending a bail hearing.
