The City of Belleville is affirming its commitment to supporting businesses in the wake of the introduction tariffs by the United States.
City officials say they are closely monitoring the potential impact of the U.S. tariffs on local businesses, manufacturers and supply chains and have launched an online portal for support.
The tariffs include a 25 per cent duty on Canadian exports and a 10 per cent duty on energy exports.
The U.S. Tariff Impact & Business Support Portal is a centralized hub providing up-to-date information and resources to help businesses assess and respond to the evolving trade landscape.
The portal includes:
-A Business Impact Survey to gather insights from local businesses on how U.S. tariffs impact their business to assist in providing tailored support.
-Key resources and analysis on the effects of U.S. tariffs, including guidance from economic experts.
-Information on available government support programs and financial assistance options.
