Belleville police have made an arrest in a homicide investigation.
Police were called to a home on Hastings Park Drive just before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday on a report of a homicide.
When police arrived, they located a deceased 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man who had lacerations on his wrists. Both were inside the house.
Based on an investigation and initial observations from police, the man was arrested for first-degree murder.
He was taken by paramedics to Kingston General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and remains in police custody at the hospital.
The names of the accused and the deceased are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
Uniform police personnel remain at the residence preserving scene continuity.
The Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division, with help from the Forensic Identification Section, continue to investigate the incident.
