Picton Community Gardens has been named a project of community interest by council.
During Prince Edward County Council’s Tuesday meeting, council heard a deputation from Barbra Mason, one of the volunteers who maintains the garden, about their current ongoing projects.
The Community Garden is seeking partners to help them bring some projects to completion this year, including rebuilding planter beds, converting certain grass surfaces to wood chips, and building a new fence.
As a project of community interest, donations to the gardens for those projects become tax deductible. No other action was taken after the deputation.
