Big projects are on the horizon for Picton Community Gardens, but the volunteer staff need some help to get the projects moving.
Barbara Mason, a volunteer from the community gardens is preparing to go before Prince Edward County Council with a deputation during Tuesday’s council meeting seeking assistance with several key projects.
A multi-year plan is being put in place to improve the garden space, with the key 2024 goals being to rebuild worn out garden beds with new lumber, laying down wood chip bases, and building a new fence.
The community gardens are offering gratitude signage for any partners willing to help them with the current year’s projects.
Other goals for future years include a learning centre and relaxation space.
