The Collingwood Blues slipped past the Trenton Golden Hawks 5-4 on Friday night.
Lucas Lapalm, James Jodoin, and Taeo Artichuk scored for the Golden Hawks.
The game began with an explosive first period. The Blues grabbed three goals early in the frame, building a strong lead, only for the Golden Hawks to strike back hard and rack up three goals of their own before the end of the frame and take a tied score into the second.
During the second period, the Blues found the back of the net once with an unanswered goal, giving them a slim lead.
In the third and final frame, the Golden Hawks scored once, tying the game, but the Blues managed to grab one last goal to tip the scales back in their favour and secure the win.
The Blues now lead the best of seven OJHL championship series 1-0, and game two will be on Saturday in Collingwood.
