Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a person wanted on a first degree murder warrant in connection with the death of a teenager in Quinte West.
Quinte West OPP tell Quinte News the fifth suspect, 29-year-old Khadijah Courneyea of Quinte West, has been arrested but they have not released any more information.
Wednesday, police announced five people had been charged with first degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Kiean Stoddard who was found deceased in a motel room on Dundas Street West in Trenton on January 7.
Four of those charged, 22-year-old Morgan Belyea and 26-year-old Steven Courneyea, both of Belleville, and 43-year-old Harold Russell and 27-year-old Aaron Ryan, both of Quinte West had already been arrested while a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Khadijah Courneyea.
The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
OPP ask anyone with information or doorbell camera or dashcam video from January 3 between 5:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. in the area of 276 Dundas Street East to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS).
