Police have provided an update on an incident on Lower Slash Road in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory Monday afternoon.
A portion of the road was closed for several hours as police dealt with a barricaded person in a residence.
Paramedic Services initially responded to a medical call at the residence and removed a person with minor injuries.
Tyendinaga Police were called as a male who was still in the residence was allegedly threatening people and possibly had firearms.
Lennox and Addington OPP, the Emergency Response Team and Tactical Response Unit were also on scene as a precautionary measure as police made contact with the male in the residence.
Lower Slash Road was closed between Deseronto Road and Mowbrays Road.
Police discovered that there were two males at the residence.
Just before 3 p.m., police were able to talk both males into exiting the residence and one male was arrested without incident.
A 35-year-old male from Tyendinaga First Nation, was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
