It’s not a trick, the Deadnersville Halloween Haunt has provided another treat for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
The popular Halloween display by Lorne Holditch on Redsnerville Road in Prince Edward County hosted more than 15,000 visitors this year and raised more than $17,700 for the BGHF.
The attraction accepts donations to the Hospital Foundation and also this year, won the local ‘Haunt Your House’ contest sponsored by local realtor Michelle Ellis of eXp Realty.
On-site donations totalled $16,359 with Ellis also donating a dollar for every vote Deadersville received in the competition, a contribution of $1,343.
BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook says Holditch has now donated more than $60,000 through Deadnersville.
Holditch’s wife Sheila passed away in 2019 and he has been holding the event in her memory ever since.
And he’s not done this year.
For the month of December, Holditch has transformed Deadnersville into Slednersville — with a display full of Christmas lights & animatronics, running from 4-11 p.m. daily.
Slednersville is part of the ‘Deck Your House‘ Christmas Tour and Competition, also sponsored by Ellis.
