Suspicious Incident – Police Seeking Public’s Assistance
On December 10, 2023 at approximately 4 p.m., Belleville police responded to a call on Dundas Street East in the area of Herchimer Avenue regarding a suspicious incident. The adult female victim reported that a male driving a champagne/ beige coloured sedan, similar to a Toyota Camry, made multiple attempts to get the female victim in his car. The victim reported that the male had driven his vehicle on the sidewalk and opened his door in an attempt to get her in the vehicle.
The suspect was described as being a white male in his 50s to 60s, having short “salt and pepper” hair with a couple of days growth of patchy facial hair and being approximately 150 lbs. He was wearing a brown jacket and dark blue jeans.
Police received information that there was a male in the area who possibly filmed the incident on his cell phone.
The incident has been referred to the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division for continued follow-up.
