It’s a packed agenda for Belleville City Council on Monday.
Among the items up for discussion are a new Nurse Practitioner and Automated Speed Enforcement cameras.
Council will be asked to approve an agreement with a new Nurse Practitioner under the city’s Physician Recruitment Program.
Sarah Shaw will start practising at the Belleville Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic in Downtown Belleville January 8.
City staff say she is a good fit for the city’s incentive program launched earlier this year that offers $10,000 to Nurse Practitioners, payable in two instalments, in exchange for a two-year commitment.
The addition of Shaw will mean hundreds of local residents will have access to a primary health care provider.
Councillors will also consider approving $733,000 for the rental of four Automated Speed Enforcement Cameras over five years.
Last month council approved an Automated Speed Enforcement Program for the city.
The program, to be rolled out next summer, will see the cameras rotate around the 10 Community Safety Zones located across Belleville.
There are exit clauses in the event the city decides to cease the ASE program before the five years is up.
