The numbers are in for Quinte West’s November building permits, and the numbers are down compared to previous years.
Only 46 building permits were issued, down from 70 in 2022. The combined value of the construction was $5,319,600, which is less than half of the previous year’s November construction at $12,273,000.
Of the 46 issued permits, 12 were for new residential development. The 12 permits include seven single-detached homes, four town houses, and an apartment building.
So far in 2023 there have been 577 permits issued, down from 743 issued in the same period of 2022, but the total value of the construction is nearly the same. So far this year, $134,682,200 has been approved while 2022 saw $137,015,450 during the same period.
