The Centre for Workforce Development (CFWD) is growing.
It’s expanding its Local Board services to include the Renfrew and Lanark Counties area for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, in addition to its longstanding catchment area of Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox & Addington Counties.
Following a ministry assessment to ensure continuity of Local Board services in the Renfrew and Lanark area, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development selected CFWD to expand service delivery by establishing an additional site for the region for the period April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027.
“CFWD and its Board of Directors are very pleased to be extending our local labour market expertise into the Renfrew and Lanark Counties region,” says Sandi Ramsay, CEO for the Centre for Workforce Development. “This expansion reflects our organization’s proven experience and capacity to conduct labour market research and implement workforce development services in a timely manner, deliver mandated functions consistently and equitably across service areas, and foster strong community partnerships.”
Through this work, CFWD aims to support informed workforce planning, strengthen labour market responsiveness, and help foster a strong and resilient workforce across the region.
As CFWD moves forward under this new service delivery agreement, the organization says it welcomes the opportunity to build meaningful partnerships and support the workforce development needs of communities throughout this expanded service area.
