Northumberland OPP have laid charges related to child pornography against a 16-year-old following a 10-month investigation.
The investigation began on January 24, 2023, when OPP were dispatched to a property in Brighton after receiving reports of non-consensual distribution of intimate images.
On November 22, 2023, Northumberland OPP arrested a 16-year-old from Brighton.
The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following:
- Possession of child pornography
- Voyeurism
- Distributing intimate images without consent – two counts
- Obtaining property by false pretence – under $5000 – two counts
