An investigation into a vehicle collision led to kidnapping charges Wednesday afternoon in Quinte West.
OPP responded to Meyers Creek Road in the noon hour after a report of single vehicle collision.
Upon arrival officers learned that one of the vehicle’s occupants had been forcibly confined by some other people.
They had run from the scene before police arrived. Quinte West OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, K9 Unit and Aviation Services began a search of the Aikens and Whites Road area which includes a trailer park.
Three people were taken into custody without incident. Police say there is no threat to public safety and more information will be released when it’s available.
