Prince Edward County Detachment OPP are thanking the community for assisting with a search for a nine-year-old child who was last seen at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI).
Officers were dispatched to the school on Monday at around 11:30 a.m. in the search for a nine-year-old student who had been missing for approximately 30 minutes.
An extensive search began for the missing student with additional resources including the Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and Canine Unit.
Police say with the support from the community, the child was located safely approximately one hour after they went missing.
The OPP thanked everyone who assisted in the search.
