Former Belleville mayor Mitch Panciuk says he will make his intentions clear on if he will run in the 2026 municipal election in Belleville on The Lorne Brooker Show on Thursday.
“There are lots of rumours and speculation as well as much encouragement,” Panciuk said in a post to Facebook.
“I will be happy to clear everything up and appreciate (the) Lorne Brooker Show and Lorne Brooker for providing me with the opportunity.”
Panciuk previously served as Mayor of Belleville for one term from 2018-2022 after one term as councillor for Belleville – Ward 1.
He was defeated by current Belleville mayor Neil Ellis in the 2022 municipal election.
In 2025, Panciuk was named as the President & CEO of Ontario One Call, an organization described as “a public safety administrative authority that acts as a communications link between buried infrastructure owners and individuals who are planning to dig in the province of Ontario.”
The Lorne Brooker Show is heard on 800 CJBQ from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
CJBQ is a property of Quinte Broadcasting, who also owns Quinte News.
