Two more organizations have signed Belleville’s Workplace Inclusion Charter.
META Employment Services and the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board are the latest to make a commitment to inclusion in the workplace.
META has implemented several inclusive practices including adopting inclusive language, looking for ways to celebrate diversity and using hiring practices to create a team with a diverse background in education, culture and ability level.
The organization will also be posting its commitment to the Workplace Inclusion Charter publicly to ensure accountability for years to come.
Executive Director Sandra Leslie, “Ultimately, our mission is to provide employment-related services to facilitate resilient, vibrant and ever-changing communities.”
The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board has undertaken a number of initiatives over the years to promote inclusion in the workplace and officials say they will continue to work with community partners to ensure they are helping to lead the region in creating a safe and inclusive Bay of Quinte.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson says their mandates are to attract people to the region for tourism, work and as new residents, and if they aren’t active stewards in helping to make local communities more inclusive then they aren’t fulfilling their mandates.
He says they will also continue to be mindful of inclusive practices related to hiring and the election of directors for their board.
