Two people have been charged following a confrontation involving a firearm.
Quinte West OPP say they responded to a home on Factory Road in Quinte West around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police had received a report of a dispute where a firearm had been brandished.
OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit as well as the Canine Unit were dispatched.
An investigation led to the arrest of two people with three firearms being seized.
Forty-one-year-old Ashley Booth of Madoc was charged with the following:
- Pointing a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Forty-six-year-old Robert Wilson of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Both were released from custody and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 16, 2023.
