Prince Edward County council committed to meeting an emissions reduction target at its meeting on Tuesday.
Council received a report outlining a 20% reduction in corporate greenhouse gas emissions below the 2019 baseline by the year 2033.
The commitment includes a long-term vision of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050.
As part of the plan, city staff will also develop an action plan to help achieve the target.
Staff will talk with stakeholders to “ensure active participation in emissions reduction efforts.”
