Firefighters from Kingston and Loyalist Township are assisting the Napanee Fire Department with a major fire involving the Lennox Agricultural Memorial Community Centre next to the Napanee and District Curling Club at the fairgrounds.
Reports indicate there were explosions in what was described as a “really big fire” that started shortly before 3 o’clock Monday morning.
OPP immediately evacuated nearby homes on York and Thomas Streets and traffic has been blocked in all directions around the fairgrounds.
There have been no reports of injury but paramedics were said to be on standby.
