Lennox & Addington OPP have charged a man with the fatal collision that occurred on Highway 401 west of Marysville Road on July 15.
On that date, at around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a truck towing a car and an SUV.
The tow truck had lost control and ended up stopped in the live lanes leading to the SUV colliding with the truck.
Two people were in the truck and three people were in the SUV.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene from the SUV. Others involved were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
After an investigation, police laid charges against the male driver of the truck on October 10.
Thirty-one-year-old Desmond Price of Sudbury, Ontario was charged with the following:
- Operation while prohibited
- Causing death by criminal negligence
- Criminal negligence causing bodily harm – two counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded in custody.
He is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.
