Hastings County staff say a warming centre location for the Town of Bancroft is being secured as the winter months start to approach.
During discussion with the Hastings County Community and Human Services committee, the location of the warming centre was not mentioned but there were two options on the table.
On September 26, staff attended a town hall on homelessness in Bancroft where presentations were delivered regarding warming centres, as well as the Little Blue Cabins project, and receiving a study on rural homelessness.
During discussions for a warming centre, some of the options provided were the North Hastings Community Trust and the possibility of one of the local churches.
In Quinte West, Trenton United Church will be continuing its partnership with the city by offering a warming centre this season. Recently, the church had sought to open its warming centre on December 1.
For Belleville, the old Belleville Police Station at 93 Dundas Street East and will be ready to open on December 15.
