Brighton’s Chief Administrative Officer has announced his retirement.
Bob Casselman’s last official day will be March 3, 2024.
Casselman, who has been involved in Municipal Administration for 38 years, took over the CAO role in early 2019.
The Municipality of Brighton will begin the recruitment process to find a replacement and provide a seamless transition to the role.
During his tenure he has completed several key initiatives including the 2023 Strategic Plan, infrastructure renewal, organizational reviews of all departments and shepherding the municipality through the COVID pandemic. He has enjoyed physician recruitment successes and has fostered the development of a strong senior management team.
“Thanks to council and the residents of Brighton for entrusting me with the CAO role over the past five years,” says Casselman. “As my family and I venture into the next phase of life, we will have many fond memories and lasting relationships in Brighton.”
Mayor Brian Ostrander thanked Casselman for his hard work in helping modernize initiatives in Brighton and continuing to build out the Senior Management Team. “CAO Bob Casselman came to the municipality after a period of some chaos. His years of service and approachable manner made Bob an easy fit for the municipality, and we are fortunate to have had his leadership in the Chief Administrator’s office. Mr. Casselman was able
to calm waters from a management perspective and provide council with recommendations around modernizing the organization and provide leadership to our senior management team that allowed them to focus on their departmental operations.”
