Fast response by the Belleville Fire and Emergency Services Department kept a small fire from spreading at a west end residence Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called out at 6 o’clock after reports that a back room of a two-storey house at 143 Bridge Street West was on fire.
The home’s occupants had escaped safely.
The fire was declared under control in 20 minutes.
There were no injuries reported although paramedics were on standby
