The fall season is bringing a return of the COVID health issues.
CAO of Emergency Services Connor Dorey tells Quinte News the health services is “gearing up again for COVID cases.
“There’s no assessment centres this year. There’s no COVID flu clinics like we’ve had in the past so, it has the potential to increase the burden on the hospitals. So again we continue to meet as a team that involves public health community partners.”
When asked if the strike by public heath nurses has affected the work, Dorey answered: “We’re still operating status quo right now. Whether or not we see any changes, it’s a bit too early to tell at this point what the impact to our operations would be. I’m certain others are going to be affected by it.”
He says the Hastings Prince Edward ONTARIO health teams will “kind of monitor and address and come up with solutions to these problems that we’re identifying.
