Belleville Police say they have charged two youths after an altercation involving weapons on Front Street.
Officers responded to the area at around 2:14 p.m. on Tuesday.
When police arrived, the suspects had already fled the area.
Police began an investigation and attended a nearby business where they located two males believed to be involved.
While speaking with them, officers discovered one male was in possession of a loaded firearm.
Both males were arrested and taken into custody without incident.
The following items were seized:
- 72 grams of fentanyl
- 2 grams of cocaine
- 58.5 Tylenol 3 pills with codeine
- 44 Xanax pills
- 17 unknown pills
- 1 x 9mm Smith and Wesson Handgun, with eight 9mm bullets and magazine
- $4434.55 CAD Currency
As a result, two youths were charged.
A 17-year-old Hamilton male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
- Careless use of Firearm
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number on it has been tampered with
- Possession of weapon for Dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Poss of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Xanax
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Codeine
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
A 17-year-old Courtice male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

- Possession of weapon for Dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Poss of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Xanax
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Codeine
- Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
