A homeless man had to taken to Belleville General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed near Belleville City Hall.
Quinte News has learned that early Thursday morning a group of homeless people were arguing in Market Square and two men got into a fight leading to the stabbing.
Belleville Police responded with EMS say they responded to the incident at around 7:55 a.m. Thursday morning.
City police taped off a section of Market Square as an investigation was underway.
Belleville Police say this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.
Police are asking for witnesses.
