A tribute to farming, the Farm to Table event, takes place once again, in Tweed this Saturday.
Farm to Table originated when Canada celebrated its 150th birthday.
Manager of Community Development Rachelle Hardesty says, “We’ve always viewed Farm to Table as having a family dinner on a Sunday, you know a farm family dinner on a Sunday, with family and friends around. And we are an agricultural community so this was perfect.”
Pointing to the COVID-19 years, Hardesty added, “We kind of stalled there because of COVID so we missed one event. Now were on our third.”
She said, “We do it every other year.”
“We did win some awards. In 2017 we won the Hastings County Event of the Year, and then our event was recognized in the Top Three Events in Ontario for that year.”
“There are 112 tables, with 1,000 people coming, and music by the Charlie Burke Band.”
Hardesty says the dinner is sold out.
