The stifling heat and humidity will continue Wednesday into Thursday in the Quinte region.
Forecasts predict high temperatures in the low 30s with the humidex up to around 40 degrees both days.
Temperatures are expected to moderate a bit on Friday.
Tuesday in the Quinte region the high temperature as recorded at CFB Trenton was 29.1 degrees.
While warm, that temperature was short of the record for a July 4 in this area, which was 32.6 degrees, set in 2012.
The record high for today is 33.3 degrees which was set on July 5 of 1999.
