One person was assaulted during a robbery in Belleville’s west end on the weekend.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at a business just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
A female allegedly tried to leave without paying for her merchandise.
When she was confronted, the female assaulted the employee and left.
Police identified the suspect through surveillance footage and located her later in the afternoon while responding to a call about an unwanted person at a west-end apartment complex.
A 28-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with robbery with violence.
She was held for a bail hearing.
