The only children’s safety village in Eastern Ontario, it will open its doors for children, parents and grandparents to visit four times during the summer.
Located at 129 South John Street in Belleville, the village will hold two open house events in July and two in August.
On those days, children accompanied by an adult can visit the village and get a taste for the experience and programming provided through the school year.
Executive Director Bill Glisky:
“It’s just sort of a chance for people who either haven’t had a chance to visit the village before or to come down and see it and people who have had kids come to the village and want to see what their kids are talking about, come down and see it as well.”
Children under the age of 12 visiting the Village must be accompanied by an adult. Bikes, scooters and skateboards will be permitted based on crowd size and under the condition they can be ridden safely without endangering either the riders or others using the Village. Anyone behaving recklessly or endangering others with their behaviour will be required to leave.
The Village will open its gates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m on:
- Wednesday July 12
- Tuesday July 25
- Wednesday Aug. 16
- Tuesday Aug. 22
