Prince Edward County is encouraging residents to get active by taking part in the Silver Chain Challenge.
The challenge began eight years ago with the goal of “inspiring and promoting engaged, active, safe, and healthier communities,” according to a release from Prince Edward County.
What initially began as a competition between Lanark and Renfrew counties has expanded to include all 13 counties within Eastern Ontario.
Prince Edward County won the challenge in 2021 in its first year of participation.
From June 1 to June 30, residents can log the kilometres they have travelled by bike or on foot.
Residents of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are invited to take part.
