Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a call on Saturday afternoon regarding someone who had driven their car through a locked gate at the Napanee fairgrounds.
Upon arriving, officers found the vehicle and determined the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was later arrested after a screening device was used.
The driver was not injured, though there was some damage to the gate.
James Brownlee, a 46-year-old from Belleville, was charged with operation while impaired.
The accused was released with a court date set for June 27, and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
