While the news is full of information about wildfires in the Halifax area and out west in Alberta and B.C., it wouldn’t take much for our region to experience similar emergencies.
The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources rates much of eastern Ontario at high risk for forest fires.
And one area east of Apsley in the Kawartha Highlands is rated an extreme risk for wildfires.
People should be very careful while smoking and with burning of any kind, including campfires.
