A Thomasburg woman won second prize in a recent LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Joan Lucas won $109,927.50 in the draw on May 6.
“The music went off on the lottery terminal and it sounded different. I had no idea what was going on.” When Joan asked why the music was different, the store clerk told her she had won a big prize. “In my mind, the big prize was going to be $1,000,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings.
The 66-year-old wife and grandmother calls it the best retirement present ever.
With her winnings, Lucas plans to do some work around the house, save some to make retirement more comfortable and celebrate by having a big family dinner with the grandkids.
The winning ticket was purchased at The Thomasburg Store on Highway 37 in Thomasburg.
