Quinte West OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit has had a busy first four months of the year.
From January to the end of April the unit conducted eight investigations, charging 20 people with a total of 117 charges involving illegal drugs and weapons.
Officers seized just over 1 kilogram of cocaine, 26 grams of crack cocaine, 42 grams of Fentanyl, half a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, and 282 oxycodone pills.
Weapons seized included a 9mm handgun with extended clip and 24 rounds of ammunition, a loaded Ruger handgun with six rounds of ammunition, and a 20 guage shotgun.
Police also seized over $11,000 in Canadian currency.
