The Bay of Quinte NDP Outreach Committee is hosting a Public Forum on the Environment – Issues and Solutions to take place on Thursday, June 1, 6:30 p.m. at Parkdale Community Centre 119 Birch St., Belleville.
Climate activists Angela Bischoff (Ontario Clean Air Alliance) and Lyn Adamson (ClimateFast) will make presentations at the public forum as well as participate in a moderated discussion and take questions from the audience.
Angela Bischoff has worked with the environmental non–profit sector for more than three decades in four Canadian cities working on issues ranging from eco–cities, transportation, climate, mental health, and elections. She is the director of the Ontario Clean Air Alliance, a group aiming to move Ontario onto a 100% renewable path.
Lyn Adamson co–founded ClimateFast in 2012, holding fasts each year on Parliament Hill to push
for climate action. In 2015 ClimateFast directed attention to ‘acting on climate fast’ working with the
development of the TransformTO program, pushing for funding and training volunteers.
Bischoff and Adamson will speak about gas plants, wetlands and the greenbelt, and other
environmental concerns.
The event is free, and all members of the public are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
