The 15th annual Dancing with the Stars Quinte took place on Friday night at the CAA Arena.
Seven teams participated in the dance competition to raise funds for Volunteer and Information Quinte, but only one team would be chosen to take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
The winning team consisted of Carson Arthur from Carson’s Garden & Market and Jennifer Bedlam from Northern Craft Supply Co, with their dance instructor Liane Ireland from the Ireland Academy of Dance.

Al Lewis and Lori Foster with their instructor Devon Scott placed second, Jared and Shannon Bellemare with their instructor Jerry McCoy placed third.

Carson Arthur said that it was a lot of work to prepare for the competition.
“I had no idea it was that much practice,” said Arthur. “We met multiple times per week, eight weeks in a row. It was a lot of work. I lost weight, and then I gained it all back.”
Tracy Legault-Davis, VIQ Manager of Community Programs and Communications, said that the crowd was incredibly supportive and thanked the community for making the fundraiser a success.

“Without this fundraiser we wouldn’t be here, so it is so important to us and we can’t thank the community enough for their support,” said Legault-Davis.
The official total raised has not yet been released, but is estimated to be over $20,000.
