Hastings County Long Term Care Homes in the Quinte area are concerned about penalties they might receive for “medication incidents.”
In a report to the Long Term Care committee on Wednesday, Director Erin Chapman said this concerns medication incidents and medication administration of drugs.
“Medication safety is a top priority for all long term care homes, ours included and we will continue to encourage reporting of medication-related incidents.”
Chapman says, “It’s concerning that reporting a medication incident could result in a monetary penalty.”
